Artemin Gallery is pleased to present Floral Dive, a solo exhibition by Katia Lifshin, on view from September 13 to October 11, 2025. This marks Lifshin’s first solo exhibition in Taiwan, showcasing her newest works created this year. Born in Ukraine in 1993, Katia Lifshin lives and works in Tel Aviv, Israel. She studied art at Pima College in Tucson, Arizona, before continuing her practice independently, gradually shaping a distinctive visual language.

In this unsettled year, the sensitive artist’s inner world mirrors the turbulence around her. Her canvases remain alive with bright colors and stretching, dynamic gestures, yet the themes take a new turn. The works open onto vast natural spaces—endless flower beds, paths extending beyond sight, compositions that lead the viewer toward mountaintops, figures leaping in mid-air. Each detail is meticulously explored, yet the inner journey is never linear; it
winds, twists, and reveals delicate subtleties. This nuanced exploration lies at the heart of the exhibition, marking a bold and successful new chapter in Lifshin’s practice.

Lifshin’s work has always embraced transformation. Over time, she discovers new entry points, subtly shifting themes while elevating her compositional and visual execution. This maturity is not decorative but emerges from her fearless engagement with the self. Revealing the most intimate layers of her inner life is never simple, sometimes even vulnerable, yet she faces it fully, translating it into forms that are at once elegant, vibrant, and alive.
Flowers in her paintings are not mere representations of nature—they carry rhythm and melody. Circular motifs and swirling forms recur throughout, guiding the eye as if listening to a joyful waltz or feeling a current of air. The viewer is drawn into a sense of an arcadian retreat, embraced by extraordinary flora in a hidden realm. Viewers’ attention moves from the center outward, following a soft, circulating path. This movement is both visual and psychological: the eye moves, the flowers bloom, and the mind opens. Viewers are not passive; they spin, float, and experience joy and lightness while sensing the delicate balance between weight and dissipation.

In this exhibition, Lifshin refines her technique of transparency. In Portal, faint, sheer footprints appear along a path; in Flower Diver, semi-transparent swirls expand across the canvas. These eects convey her pursuit of lightness, airiness, and complete immersion in the creative process. She continues to work with high-saturation blues and greens, and the subtle spectrum between them, layering nuances that hover between reality and imagination and opening up a wider space for the viewer’s own interpretations. Experiencing Floral Dive, one can temporarily leave behind gravity and enter a boundless state of floating, feeling an intimate resonance alongside Katia Lifshin herself.
