PAVILION Taipei 2026

We are honored to present works by Yuri Zupancic and Taiwanese artist Lu Yuan-Tse at PAVILION Taipei 2026.

This exhibition is developed in response to Pavilion’s curatorial framework, which centers on the themes of urban memory, nostalgia, and the notion of return.

Yuri Zupancic employs computer components and technological materials as his primary artistic media, transforming highly functional objects into visual structures that carry memory and affect. Rather than pointing toward technology’s promised future, his works turn back to the remnants of technological civilization, rendering them into contemporary memories that can be perceived and read. In doing so, they engage with the tensions between urban development, collective memory, and technological transformation.

Taiwanese artist Lu Yuan-Tse approaches his practice from a more introspective and sensorial register. Grounded in a deep trust in the present moment, he does not predetermine the final form of his works; instead, he allows tactile sensation, material behavior, and the immediacy of bodily states to guide the creative process. In his work, impression and memory often take precedence over direct representation. Through the passage of time, details dissolve into atmosphere, giving rise to a sense of weight and presence. Spanning landscape, abstraction, still life, and portraiture, his practice resists fixation within a singular style, maintaining an open and fluid condition.

我們很榮幸於 PAVILION Taipei 2026 呈現 Yuri Zupancic 與台灣藝術家呂沅澤的作品。本次展覽回應策展核心——「城市記憶、懷舊與歸鄉」，並從「晶圓之島」的視角出發，思考在 post-silicon 時代中，科技、時間與人類經驗所交織而成的時代軌跡，將如何被理解、保存，乃至被典藏。

Yuri Zupancic 以各式電腦元件與科技材料為創作媒介，將高度功能化的物質轉化為承載記憶與情感的視覺結構。其作品不再指向科技所承諾的未來性，而是回望科技文明所遺留下的痕跡，將其轉化為可被感知與閱讀的當代記憶，回應城市發展、集體記憶與技術更迭之間的張力。

台灣藝術家呂沅澤則從更為內在且感性的層次切入創作。他的創作核心建立在對「當下」的信任之上，不預設作品完成的樣貌，而是讓手感、材料與即時的身體狀態引導創作方向。在其作品中，印象與記憶往往勝過對現實的再現；時間的沉澱使細節逐漸消融，轉化為一種氛圍與重量。其創作橫跨寫實風景、抽象、靜物與人像等多重形式，拒絕被單一風格所限定，保持開放而流動的狀態。

Thank you all for joining the opening of Juli’s second solo exhibition in Taiwan. Through her consistently vibrant and sumptuous use of color and imagery, Juli addresses social issues that deserve careful and sustained reflection. In this exhibition, she turns her focus to the story of the uprising of the female workers at the Hara jeans factory.

In October 1975, the women workers of the Hara Factory took collective action by seizing and occupying their own workplace. This event has since been recognized as a rare and significant case in the history of labor disputes in Thailand. Scholars have noted that the factory occupation—later reopened under the name The United Labourers Factory—was a strategic means to an end, enabling the workers to negotiate with an oppressive employer and to demand more just and humane working conditions.

The event itself stands as a radical and concrete act of practice, functioning almost as a manifesto. It clearly articulates the determination of a group of workers in modern Thai history to assert their labor rights, collective autonomy, and commitment to social justice.

Fuengfah Factory is the site where these narratives converge. It is an imagined, shared factory one in which dreams are woven into fabric, identities are tried on and rediscovered, and life unfolds between labor, resistance, and the small yet vital joys of everyday existence.

感謝大家蒞臨 Juli 在台灣的第二場個展開幕。
Juli 一直以華麗而繽紛的色彩與畫面語言，承載並引導我們直面那些值得被深刻討論的社會議題。本次展覽，她將視角聚焦於 Hara 牛仔褲工廠女性工人的起義故事。

1975 年 10 月，Hara 工廠的女性工人發起行動，佔領並接管了她們自己的工廠。這一事件被視為泰國勞資爭議史上一個極為獨特且重要的案例。學者們指出，這場工廠佔領行動後來以「聯合勞工工廠（The United Labourers Factory）」之名重新開放，是一種為達成特定目標而採取的集體行動，旨在與壓迫性的雇主進行談判，爭取更為合理且具人道精神的工作條件。

這起事件本身即是一項激進而具體的實踐，猶如一份行動中的宣言，清楚展現了泰國現代歷史中，一群勞工對於勞動權利、集體自主與社會正義的堅定立場。

《Fuengfah Factory》正是這些故事交匯之地。它是一座被想像出的共享工廠，夢想在此被織入布料，身分在此反覆試穿與被重新發現，生命則在勞動、抵抗，以及日常中微小卻真實的喜悅之間綻放。
